in Web Hosting

Non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organizations in the United States are welcome to take advantage of DreamHost’s FREE web hosting services. These non profit organizations operate without expecting any profit. DreamHost recognizes this noble sacrifice.

To support non profit organizations, DreamHost is giving away FREE hosting services to these charitable organizations. The free service only applies to a single hosting plan per non-profit organization, hosted in just one account, for any US-based 501(c)(3) organizations. Non-hosting related services like domain name registration is not included in the package. Charitable organizations could either register a domain name with DreamHost or use their existing domain name.

Free Web Hosting

To qualify for this free service, any non-profit organization must be able to furnish DreamHost with an IRS-issued 501(c)(3) determination letter.

For New Customers

For non-profit organizations applying for the first time, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Fill up the needed information in this application form. Make sure you select the option to set up a hosting plan, not just domain registrations.
  2. STOP when you get to the payment page.
  3. To avail of the free web hosting service, you will have to fax proof of your non-profit status to DreamHost at 714-990-2600. Don’t forget to include the email address you have used in the sign-up process!

For Current Customers

For existing customers of DreamHost, all you need to do is fax your proof of non-profit status to 714-990-2600. In your cover letter to DreamHost, include your DreamHost account number.

Proving Non-Profit Status

There’s only one crucial document needed by DreamHost to prove your status as a non profit organization and that is the 501(c)(3) determination letter. This letter should officially come from United States IRS and should clearly indicate the tax exempt non-profit status of your organization.

If you are a non-profit organization but you don’t have a 501(c)(3) determination letter, then you won’t qualify for the free hosting service. Any other proof that you don’t profit from your organization’s undertakings will not be recognized and accepted.
