HostGator deployed their newest in-house developed script installer, the QuickInstall. QuickInstall, as the name implies, allows you to quickly install the most common scripts on your server with just a few clicks away.
Since all the programming for QuickInstall and its software library are in-house, updating installed scripts on your server will be a lot easier, faster and more flexible. For instance, when WordPress 3.0 was released, it took only a few hours for QuickInstall to be updated and be ready for installation. Fantastico, the most popular script installer, took days for to be updated. This means, with QuickInstall, you don’t have to wait for days to get the latest versions of any of your scripts.
QuickInstall, while still on its last test phase, is now available to HostGator‘s shared servers. Simply log-in to your cPanel and click on the QuickInstall icon.
QuickInstall has been rolled out only to shared servers but if you have a VPS or a dedicated server with HostGator, simply submit a ticket to have one of their administrators install QuickInstall for you, and it’s free of charge!
